Message first to the people who have this clutch ..do NOT worry..! i am sure this is an isolated case.

short run down
--------------
my engage points on the clutch pedal has been moving causing the clutch to slip when it gets hot. i figured i had air in the line(s) so i did everything to take care of that. turns out that i did not have air in the lines. then rps posted about the slave cylinder (after damon told me about what he had to do with the pin in the slave cylinder) size and they would send out a replacement to ppl who had the clutch. i received the slave and slapped it on and i could not get the car in gear. again i figured it was air....so i did the stuff/adjustment/bla bla bla and it only seemed worse. then i called on some help. here is what we found.

now before people jump up and down and call foul. stop. i know the install was done 100% correct. everything that you should replace was replaced and more. this was after about 8 months of driving. i started to notice major problems about three months ago. NOTHING seemed like it would be this bad. I did NOT have major noise or anything. the only issue i had was the engage point moving until it would not shift anymore while the car was started (springs). i did hear a slight noise from time to time but i thought that might be the TOB. as you can see by the pictures that wasnt the case. it was the SPRING bits flying around. if you look you can see the actual springs sheared into peices. four of the six springs are gone. two springs actually fell out and the other two are sheared in half and still in their locations. some of you might think that this is due to hard driving or dropping the clutch at 7k at the strip. i can tell you that is NOT the case. the hardest driving i did was bumper to bumper traffic and i never noticed a problem other than the engage point moving slowly out (like the fluid was expanding).

i have contacted rps about this and i do NOT want bad press about them. they have been great (the slave cylinder issue) and i look forward to getting this resolved.

now (thanks to a person who should have done what they did) i have a act 6 puck without springs. i love it. i loved the rps also. the act is somewhat harsh compared to the rps, but the pressure plate is MUCH lighter. the pressure plate feels stock compared to the rps. i love pressure plates really tight and hard, but oh well...i can NOT bitch at all. if i had to do it all over again i would get the rps clutch and a lighter flywheel. i do not know what happened with this one but such is life. i figured you guys would like to see.
